ANDREW CONRU AND HIS PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITIES

Image
Below is a blog post that I submitted on Adult FriendFinder yesterday. Perhaps not surprisingly, it was denied twice. I'm posting it here for safekeeping. ________  MESSAGE TO BROCK PURPURA, FRIENDFINDER NETWORKS' CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER I'd   be very grateful if Site Support could pass this message to Brock Purpura, the chief executive officer of FriendFinder Networks, the online dating company that runs Adult FriendFinder and other dating platforms, or at least alert him to this message. Many thanks. Before going on, I want to stress that this blog post is factual and in no way is it intended to be inflammatory, quite the opposite. The post doesn't contravene the site's terms of use so I very much hope it will get approved for release when reviewed. Many members here are very concerned about recent news about Andrew Conru, the owner of FriendFinder Networks, and particularly news of his philanthropic activities. The news became public late last week. The news is...

I'M CRACKING

Image
I'm just writing this for reasons of transparency. My stance regarding Adult FriendFinder (AFF) since getting banned was to get back primarily to retrieve some of my blog posts. Also, I wanted to say 'goodbye' on my own terms rather than unceremoniously disappearing. After retrieving my blog posts, I decided that I didn't want to deactivate my account as I wanted to maintain a link to my blog. With hindsight, it would have been easier to have done a 'hello I'm back' blog post as I wasn't actually saying 'goodbye' in the only blog post I've submitted since my ban was lifted. Also, it would have saved me time stating that I was back in one single blog post than writing the same thing to many people in comments and replies on a multitude of blog posts. Since my return to AFF, I have been in lurk mode reading blog posts and occasionally commenting on posts submitted by my blogging friends. My plan was to resume blogging there if and hopefully whe...

ADULT FRIENDFINDER'S GROUPLAND

Image
Regarding Adult FriendFinder (AFF), most comment here understandably tends to focus on its blogs. I want to focus on groups on AFF. Just as blogland has noticeably declined on AFF, groupland has also declined. Though I'm sure there are more, I can only think of a few groups that are active on AFF - HNW Bloggers, Club 7 and, to a lesser extent, Live from AFF come to mind. Over the last couple of years, many groups are now often used as an extension of a member's blog and/or used by members to submit hook-me-up posts. From where I'm standing, there doesn't seem to be a lot of group discussion going on beyond the 'hook-me-up' and 'wanna-fuck-you' lines. In my opinion, two events caused the decline of groupland. First was the move to the Community side as part of Andrew Conru's plan to create an adult social media site. Many group posts never made the move over making groups somewhat discombobulated - I love that word! This technical glitch was compounde...

IS ADULT FRIENDFINDER IN ITS DEATH THROES?

Image
Aerikvon's Death Throes by AerikVon : Having returned to Adult FriendFinder (AFF), part of FriendFinder Networks, about three weeks ago after my ban, I'm starting to believe that the site is now in its death throes. Though the blogs I follow cannot be regarded as representative of blogland, my list of followed blogs cover a lot of bloggers who actually blog as opposed to posting photos of porn without text or posting hook-me-ups. Before my ban, my guess is that I would have received on average about a hundred alerts each day. Given I haven't submitted a blog post since my return and my blog posts, which would have perhaps attracted on average about 25 comments, and given I don't submit too many comments nowadays, I should now expect about 50 alerts per day. But the number of alerts I receive are no more than about 20 each day. That is a significant decrease in the number of alerts I'm now receiving from what I used to receive. My observation is that bloggers (at lea...
