WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT ALI

Image
"What's it all about Alfie" is the opening line of the Alfie song, a song penned by Burt Bacharach and Hal David to promote the Alfie film, released in 1966, starring Michael Caine. Cilla Black (see photo below) sang the song that was first recorded in 1965 and released as a single in 1966 - Dionne Warwick also later had a hit with this song. Burt Bacharach later said Alfie was one of the best songs he had written. I now sing this song in my head with the opening line, what's it all about Ali! I've been looking back at the ban of the four exiles from Adult FriendFinder (AFF). All four of us have now been reinstated. It just doesn't make sense, or at least it makes little sense to me. I cannot fully understand why we got banned in the first place. I couldn't fully understand Jon Buckheit's role in proceedings. It seems clear that Ali R was behind our ban and subsequent reinstatement. I couldn't fully understand whey we all weren't reinstated ...

IS ADULT FRIENDFINDER IN ITS DEATH THROES?

Aerikvon's Death Throes by AerikVon : Having returned to Adult FriendFinder (AFF), part of FriendFinder Networks, about three weeks ago after my ban, I'm starting to believe that the site is now in its death throes. Though the blogs I follow cannot be regarded as representative of blogland, my list of followed blogs cover a lot of bloggers who actually blog as opposed to posting photos of porn without text or posting hook-me-ups. Before my ban, my guess is that I would have received on average about a hundred alerts each day. Given I haven't submitted a blog post since my return and my blog posts, which would have perhaps attracted on average about 25 comments, and given I don't submit too many comments nowadays, I should now expect about 50 alerts per day. But the number of alerts I receive are no more than about 20 each day. That is a significant decrease in the number of alerts I'm now receiving from what I used to receive. My observation is that bloggers (at lea...

DEAR JON

Image
Here a 'Dear John' letter is a letter sent by one person to finish a relationship with another person. Obviously in the digital age, emails have largely replaced letters. In this case I didn't actually dump Jon, he dumped me. But why stop the facts get in the way of a good metaphor. I will enjoy writing this letter to Jon! Below is my letter to Jon Buckheit, FriendFinder Networks' chief executive officer. It's by being a paying gold member for many years of Adult FriendFinder (AFF), one of the many FriendFinder Networks' sites, through which I unfortunately got to know about Jon. __________________________________________________________________________ Dear Jon I know you'll read this letter even though I've not posted it to you - stamps are now very expensive here in Britain, and even though I've not emailed it to you - emails are just so dehumanising, don't you think? You've let it be known that you're following the people you've r...
