GLITCH FIXED

Image
From where I'm standing, it seems that Google has fixed the glitch. I'm now getting email notifications, after ticking 'Notify Me', of replies to my comments and subsequent comments left on other people's blog posts.

MY DIAMOND PRODUCT EXPERT FRIENDS HAVE DESERTED ME

Image
Following Joy's quite recent blog post (see  https://author51.blogspot.com/ 2024/04/blog-spot- notifications-glitch.html ), it seems all of us aren't receiving email notifications, despite ticking 'Notify Me', for replies to comments and subsequent comments on other people's blog posts. Though it seems we are still receiving email notifications for comments left on each of our own blog posts. I decided to contact the Help Community and see what my new Diamond Product Expert friends had to say about this glitch. It seems they don't want to talk to me. I've received no replies to my query. And there I was a while back raving about the Help Community here! However, it wasn't to no avail as I learnt how to report glitches direct to the site. To contact the site direct about feedback, glitches, queries etc, you just have to click the circled question mark on the top right hand side of the screen and then click 'Send feedback'. I did report the glitch ...

IT'S NOT JUST ADULT FRIENDFINDER WHO CAN'T COUNT

Image
We all know that Adult FriendFinder was useless, deliberately useless, at counting. Its counts of views of profiles and blog posts were works of fiction, deliberately written to create an impression that more people are interested than is really the case. The cursor only needed to be within an inch or two of something and that would count as a view, never mind the bots and fakes the site probably used to artificially inflate the counts of profiles, etc. On joining this Google-owned site, I presumed that it would be better than AFF at counting. It seems my presumption was misplaced. Now I have no way of ascertaining the number of views each of my 11 blog posts have attracted but I know for sure the view counts will be low. So low that my five year old grandson could easily count the number of views I have here. By the way, he can now count up to a hundred with hardly any mistakes. There are two ways I can find how many views each of my posts have attracted. One way is to click 'Post...

ESCAPING THE BUBBLE

Image
I must say I'm mightily impressed with the Help Community on this site. In an attempt to escape my bubble and connect with other bloggers on this site, I posted this message to the Help Community: "I've recently joined this site and I'm slowly finding my feet. I've noticed that I'm unable to follow someone's blog unless I have their URL address which is nigh impossible to get as I can't find any way to access blogs. There doesn't seem to be a generic homepage to see what's going on in Blogger, a search function that searches beyond my blog, no lists/feeds of new etc blog posts. I feel trapped in a bubble! How can other bloggers see my blog? And how can I see other people's blogs? Many thanks in advance for any help proffered." Within 15 minutes I had two seemingly useful replies, one from WebLove.PL and another from Adam (who had earlier helped me regarding comments/replies being spammed on my blog posts). I've copied-and-pasted the...

MY FIRST GLITCH

Image
I've just experienced my first glitch on this site, and I'll remember it as my first kiss though probably not as much as the first time I had sex! Over the last two days, several comments/replies from JN, Smarty and Joy haven't shown up on my blog posts. Despite getting email notifications showing their comments/replies they don't appear on my blog posts. Yesterday I was hoping it was a temporary glitch, but it has happened again today. So I decided to report the glitch to the site. I clicked the circled question mark in the top right hand corner here on the site. Here you can either seek help from or send feedback to the site. There seemed to be two sources of help offered. One was from the site itself by clicking 'visit help forum'. This took me to Blogger's Help Center where there was plenty of advice on how to set up a blog, create a blog post, add images and videos to blog posts, etc. I didn't read any of this advice as it didn't look relevan...

LIFE IN A BUBBLE

Image
Above is Tori Cignarella and Jeremy Cohen on a date during the worst of the covid pandemic in Brooklyn. I thought I'd sketch out some, well nine to be precise, preliminary observations about this site after my first few days of joining. 1. The site isn't that easy to navigate around, particularly when compared to AFF. 2. It's great there's no overt censorship here especially as postings aren't reviewed by the site before being posted. That is a big plus compared to AFF. Obviously, the Blogger site will take down any postings that breach its community guidelines. I haven't read them yet. I'm presuming or at least hoping they are reasonable. 3. So far, I've not encountered any glitches that were so widespread on AFF. I'm sure there will be glitches but Google should have the resources to fix them quickly. 4. I've learnt to keep track of blog posts of my so far few followed bloggers via my 'Reading List'. And I've learnt to keep tra...
