MY DIAMOND PRODUCT EXPERT FRIENDS HAVE DESERTED ME
Following Joy's quite recent blog post (see https://author51.blogspot.com/ 2024/04/blog-spot- notifications-glitch.html), it seems all of us aren't receiving email notifications, despite ticking 'Notify Me', for replies to comments and subsequent comments on other people's blog posts. Though it seems we are still receiving email notifications for comments left on each of our own blog posts.
I decided to contact the Help Community and see what my new Diamond Product Expert friends had to say about this glitch. It seems they don't want to talk to me. I've received no replies to my query. And there I was a while back raving about the Help Community here!
However, it wasn't to no avail as I learnt how to report glitches direct to the site. To contact the site direct about feedback, glitches, queries etc, you just have to click the circled question mark on the top right hand side of the screen and then click 'Send feedback'.
I did report the glitch to the site but I've heard nothing back despite nearly two days having elapsed. Regarding this glitch, the site hasn't done particularly well.
Despite an earlier blog post (see https://bowandarrowman. blogspot.com/2024/03/my-first- glitch.html) claiming that this site can't accurately count the number of views on my blog posts, I need to withdraw this assertion. It turns out the number of views listed for my blog posts on my 'Stats' page were only those over the last seven days. So that was not a glitch, just me failing to understand the site - it's not always obvious here!
Following my recent blog post (see https://bowandarrowman. blogspot.com/2024/03/escaping- bubble.html) in which I reported advice from my Diamond Product Expert friends - well I thought they were my friends at the time!, I've made several attempts to escape the bubble here. Each time I failed. It seems that blogs here can only be accessed if their URL address is known.
Even using Google to search for blog posts here doesn't yield many results. Quite often blog posts on other platforms are listed rather than posts with the blogspot.com subdomain. Now I'm not expecting Google to give preferential treatment to Blogger over other blogging platforms, but I do get the impression that Google, since it purchased Blogger in 1999, hasn't done too much with the site. You'd think the most popular search engine in the world could have introduced a search facility here in Blogger.
Blogs here are effectively silos. As I'm no master of search engine optimisation, it seems I'm doomed to die with you all here in this Adult FriendFinder silo!

They could just be busy, remember they're volunteers, unlike a certain overpaid customer disservice manager. Give them time. :)
ReplyDeleteAs for getting outside the bubble, I don't know that it's possible on blogspot. I have, however, found my way outside the bubble on wordpress. It's actually pretty easy if you have the app, but even on the browser it's simple.
They may be busy, though if it's a glitch it's not as if the diamond product expert friends can do anything about it.
DeleteI did manage to put a link to my blog here on my Reddit profile. I don't really expect any increase in traffic since the comments I leave on Reddit aren't scintillating enough to make anyone want to click through and look at my profile.
ReplyDeleteIt'll be interesting whether your Reddit link will bring more followers for your blog here. If they come over to you, I'll be all over your blog like a rash to check the newbies out!
DeleteI think this site, having seen quite a few AFFers register here (which is easy), make things difficult setting up shop to blog, though posting bogs, comments, replies and images are easy here.
The silo/bubble thing here is very confining, at least for me.
You're right, it's not easy to go beyond just reading posts. I have a friend who was formerly on AFF and blogs on Wordpress now. I told him about my new blog here. He responded, "I have been reading your blog, and I've gotten a good hypocrite smack because a couple of people have said they don't comment on my blog because they don't want to have to log in and I thought "that's fine if you don't want to, but that's kind of a lame excuse" and then I saw that I'd have to create an account to comment on your blog and I was all like "ah, nah". 😂
DeleteSo I guess don't hold your breath about seeing any new followers over on my blog!!
But I guess you have to sign up to any platform to comment. This place isn't particularly difficult.
DeleteBut Google can do so much more with this platform.
Knowing how toxic Reddit can be, I keep that profile totally separate from my other accounts.
ReplyDeleteThere is a learning curve to set up the theme and layout to one's liking, and there's the struggle with third-party cookies, but otherwise, like you said, posting blog posts, comments, replies, uploading images and videos is relatively easy. I do miss the Alerts, tho. That Alerts page was one of Andrew's better additions to the Community.
I miss the Alerts also here. My profile is also separate on reddit and will keep it that way. Thanks for the shout out there Robin Hood and will return the favour linking blogs together soon..
DeleteThe Alerts on AFF were really useful and worked well bar for one glitch when alerts became zombies and couldn't be deleted!
DeleteLinks to blog posts are quite easy. It's just their URL address.
