THE ART OF SEDUCTION
Jan Steen's The Seduction - I wonder what the dog will do:
I've just come across an online article about Robert Greene's bestselling book, The Art of Seduction, published in 2001. The author sees seduction as "about power and manipulation as much as it is about romance, about how to make someone fall under your spell."
Robert Greene profiled nine types of seducers (including Cleopatra, Giacomo Casanova, Duke Ellington and John F Kennedy) and 18 types of victims of seduction. He then went onto to formulate 24 rules of seduction.
I'm just going to list Robert Greene's 24 rules of seduction; I'm not going to elaborate on them because, one, many of them sound like manipulative psychobabble and, two, per usual I don't want to write a wordy blog post!
Robert Greene's rules of seduction are: (1) choose the right victim; (2) create a false sense of security - approach indirectly; (3) send mixed signals; (4) appear to be an object of desire - create triangles; (5) create a need - stir anxiety and discontent; (6) master the art of insinuation; (7) enter their spirit; (8) create temptation; (9) keep them in suspense - what comes next?; (10) use the demonic power of words to sow confusion; (11) pay attention to detail; (12) poetize your presence; (13) disarm through strategic weakness and vulnerability; (14) confuse desire and reality - the perfect illusion; (15) isolate the victim; (16) prove yourself; (17) effect a regression; (18) stir up the transgressive and taboo; (19) use spiritual lures; (20) mix pleasure with pain; (21) give them space to fall - the pursuer is pursued; (22) use physical lures; (23) master the art of the bold move; and (24) beware of the aftereffects.
Do you have any techniques or tips on how to seduce someone?
When was the last time you were seduced, and what happened?
I'm not sure I have any tips or at least effective tips for seduction. If I'm attracted to a woman, I'll try and get her attention, ask her questions about herself, make lots of eye contact, try and make her laugh or at least smile and, at some opportune and possibly inappropriate moment, ask her whether she wants sex with me. I guess I'm no Casanova!
Probably the last time I was seduced was by a woman at a sex party I hosted. I must admit it didn't take much for me to be seduced as I was already naked and erect. Obviously her seduction, which amounted to little more than a hello, led to sex!
Anna Ganina's The Art of Seduction - I don't want to wonder what the giraffe will do:

Oh dear lort that list sounds like pickup artist bullshit. Maybe this is where they got it from.
ReplyDeleteI’m no seductress. I have no moves. My go to move in a relationship is…drumroll please…do you wanna have sex?
I don’t believe I’ve ever been seduced either. Or if they did, they didn’t have to try hard.
Robert Greene's first book, also a bestselling book, was about the 48 laws of power and he also wrote a book about the 33 strategies of war. I suspect he wrote books that sold well at airports.
DeleteHaving looked his background up, it's a classical studies educational background, I do think he's overstretched himself with these simplistic guides.
I'm all for cutting to the chase when it comes to seduction.
I used to try to seduce the men on the other site with the power of naughty words and thoughts..lol.The pics. obviously helped at the time..lol.
ReplyDeleteThought-provoking words are always good in the seduction game.
DeleteHe sounds like a real asshole (assuming he believes all of that...maybe he just wrote it to sell books).
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's a relief to be at the stage of life where men are no longer trying to pick me up.
Robert Greene styles himself as an expert on almost everything, presumably just to sell books.
DeleteYeah, that sounds more like a handbook for con artists. Major douchebag.
ReplyDeleteIt seems Robert Greene has conned a lot of people to buy his books!
