BATHS, SHOWERS AND SEX

Before reading this blog post, I just want to warn readers (please note my optimism in using the plural there!) that one and only one paragraph of this post is a work of fantastical fiction. The rest of the post is true.

Above is a sketch of a bathroom scene drawn by Queen Victoria in the 1840s. Believe it or not, her pseudonym was Pussy! The monarch went to court to stop her drawings being made public. It was only 150 years later that Queen Victoria's sketches were exhibited to the public.

Generally I prefer a long soak in a bath than taking a shower, though in the mornings I prefer to take a shower. In my new home, I haven't got a choice as my shower doesn't work. I've got plans to have a new bathroom so I'm not going to fix the shower in the meantime.

What do you most prefer, a bath or a shower?
Have you had sex in a bath and/or sex in a shower?


Though I've had sex in a jacuzzi and a hot tub, I've never had sex in a bath. It's always seemed that a lot of water would be splashed around all over the floor while having sex in a bath.

I've had sex in a shower a few times, but I've never really enjoyed the experience. It's a slippery experience and I've never taken out insurance in case there's an accident!

    I feel like this should have been called: Bathrooms, Showers, and Sex...Oh My.

    I guess the final paragraph is the tall tale.

    Bath, to me, is for relaxing.

    Shower is to get clean.

    So, I don't have a preference as much as it depends what I'm looking to do. :)

      A bath is far more relaxing than a shower. It would be even more relaxing if I had a valet to wash and dress me!

    I have had sex both in the bath and shower a few times and enjoy both. One needs to be careful though, especially in the shower and Slippery When Wet. I just may post a HNW here. I was kicked out of it many years ago on AFF when EthicalSlutMissy was a moderator and have not been a part of HNW since..

    Shower.
    If you count a hot springs tub, yes, also hot tub and shower. However, universal solvent (water) tends to not be ideal (anti-lubricant).

      You've got a good point there about water being an anti-lubricant. The next time sex in a bath or shower comes up, I'm going to get all scientific and use that line to get out of it!

    I'm with Debbi, shower is for getting clean, bath is for relaxing. And also for if I want to soak my feet before doing a pedicure haha! You never would have gotten that Queen Victoria sketch through on AFF. Children in the bath, horrors!

    Yes, I've had sex in the shower and bath. The water tends to splash around a lot in the bathtub, so not really ideal.

      I guess if it's sex in a hotel bath then there's no real need to mop up the water on the bathroom floor after a vigorous session of sex.

Like most people, I don't regard myself as susceptible to fashion. But I suspect I am whether consciously or unconsciously. Recently I made a list of all things fashionable in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s - clearly I have too much time on my hands! The 1970s, 1980s and 1990s were the decades when I was in my teens, twenties and thirties and perhaps most likely to be a fashion victim. What I listed down as fashionable were things that can be perhaps regarded as fads, fashion that didn't endure.
